♥ i’ve been in almeria now for a few days. finishing up work. chilling. eating. hanging out with jose. dealing with an ear infection.
now, the feet are itching!
the camino mozarabe/via de la plata awaits.
this is the way i will be following. once i get up to the north, i will have to make a decision. at zamora, i can choose to follow the path that goes through ourense towards santiago (not marked on this particular map). the other option is to follow this route, continuing on to astorga ~join the camino frances there, then walk to santiago. i have no idea how long this will take me really. ten weeks? lets see.
so, having spent the afternoon doing the final cull on the taskmaster german backpack (while also washing my hair with hot water, and putting on a face mask for good luck), i am now ready.
for this first part, i will be following the stages as per the guide. there aren’t that many other choices, as the infrastructure of the camino is still taking root here. i wonder who i will meet along the way? will i be warm enough? and the knees…………these are the questions i think about right now, revealing my priorities…….
while i intend to keep writing about random thoughts relating to the senses, walking, and the affective side of all this for me, i will also be incorporating more description about the way that i walk (distances, terrain, towns) with words, images, and sounds…..looking forward to sharing this with you♥
